Residencies / Studios

La malterie is an old industrial building, which is today a thriving artistic centre in Lille. This mutation has been established for more than fifteen years.
The project specializes in artistic experimentation, turning this former malting house into an artistic laboratory where a hundred of artists work close and collaborate.
The 2000 sqm of the building are composed of a concert club, an exhibition space, 5 rehearsal studios for musicians, 26 studios for visual artists, a production space for ponctual residencies, and a resource center for artists.
RESIDENCIES
Le Plateau

On Le Plateau, a 300sqM space on the top of the building, la malterie runs a residency program for visual artists and performers engaged in artistic researches or realisation of a project. Residencies lenght are between 3 weeks and two monthes, considering the needs of the project and the artists.

For those residencies, we spread some call for projects (2 times a year), explaining eligibility, conditions and everything you need to apply if your project fits our call.

You can check our latest call for projects by clicking on this link.
All the call for projects are different, so be shure to check them regularly, or ask us to put you on our e-mailing list.

STUDIOS
The studios

We welcome visual artists in our 28 individual studios, located on the four floors of the building.
Chosen for their artistic project and their will to professionalise their carreer, the artists have their own studio, and access to la malterie's knowledge, experience and permanent support.

The studios are just workspaces, and we dont have any appartments, so the studios are dedicated to artists living in Lille and around.

Artists who would like to apply must check our call for projects  by clicking on this link.
