Ekaterina Vasilyeva & Elizaveta Konovalova - Duo d'artistes
Both from Moscow, young artists Elizaveta Konovalova & Ekaterina Vasilyeva met in France, where they studied at the Beaux Arts School of Paris.
Both artists want to question and explore their similar path and influences. Both want to build a first duo project by comparing the common things and the differences between their own personal works.
During their residency at la malterie, they will develop some researches linked to the context, questionning the space and situations to conceive specific interventions : using the place as a ressource, through it's scapes, history and architecture.
The links of ideas will then bloom in an artistic dailogue between Ekatarina's and Elizaveta's practices.

Artists Duos
being itself born from the gathering of artists, la malterie always cared a lot about collective organisation forms for artists, and the will for artists to use their energy in a meaningfull and solidaire way.
Artists often gather for different reasons : sharing costs, spaces, tools, or working together sharing artistic views on the world they're living in.
A group of artists is an efficient intelligence, made possible by the combination of different creative people, and the crossing of ideas and approaches. La Malterie and L'H du Siège both decided to cross their artistic program welcoming artists duos in residency.

L'H du Siège, partner of la malterie, invites in the same time the artists duo Sandra Aubry and Sébastien Bourg.
Sandra and Sebastien both work as a duo since 2006, They share their views as well in the construction of collaborative projects as also in their individual works. Their researches are about transitional spaces, signs and situations in which the borders collapse and change our habits.

Cette résidence est réalisée dans le cadre d'un projet européen. la malterie y met en place des résidences de recherche visant à permettre à de jeunes artistes ayant des pratiques artistiques différentes d'échanger et d'expérimenter autour d'un projet commun.
Sur la base d'une première collaboration, les artistes ont ainsi l'occasion d'expérimenter différents axes de travail et de recherche. Cette résidence est aussi spécialement conçue dans un but de développement professionnel, elle propose aux artistes invités de compléter leurs connaissances par la participation à un cycle de formation, et à des rendez-vous personnalisés avec le centre ressource de la malterie mais aussi par la rencontre de plusieurs acteurs professionnels de l'euro-région (structures, artistes, diffuseurs...).
